    About Me

    Stories are my passion.

I love to write them, I love to edit them, I love to teach them.

My novels include The Good Time Girls, The Good Time Girls Get Famous, and the upcoming The Good Time Girls Strike It Rich (written as K.T. Blakemore); the historical thrillers After Alice Fell, The Companion, and The Deception, and young adult historical novels Bowery Girl and Cissy Funk, all written as Kim Taylor Blakemore.

Awards include a Killer Nashville Silver Falchion Award for Best Historical, Willa Literary Award for Best Young Adult Novel, Tucson Festival of Books Literary Award, and finalist for a Women’s Fiction Writers Star Award and Golden Crown Literary Society Award in General Fiction.

As a developmental editor, I specialize in historical fiction, historical mystery/suspense, and women’s fiction. I founded Novelitics, which provides workshops and community to writers in the United States and Canada.

I have taught creative writing workshops in the US and UK both online and in person since 2010. I have taught with History Quill, Women's Fiction Writers Association, Sisters in Crime Chicagoland, Permian Basin Writers Conference, RWA's Kiss of Death, San Diego Writers and Editors Guild, and PDX Writers, among others. Workshops are experiential, with writing exercises and feedback focused on skills to strengthen prose and story.
